Four Lakes Amateur Radio Club Membership Meeting

Meeting called to order at 19:32 by Steve Ujvarosy, W9GZO.
Motion to approve the minutes as published of the April 2026 meeting by Sam Ledbetter, KI5POE. Seconded by Will Cox, WA9MCV, all in favor.
Treasurers report submitted and read by Sam Ledbetter, KI5POE.
March checking account balance is $4,379.28. Certificate of Deposit is $4,152.92. Sixty paid members with $1,355.00 dues collected year to date. $300 collected in ARRL Field Day donations so far, with a budget set at $900 with $576.63 spent so far. $40 spent for a MeshCore repeater at Schumacher Farm Park. $25 monthly charge for club meeting venue. $25 monthly charge for VE venue plus approximately $50 in miscellaneous charges for VE expenditures. Motion to approve by Thomas Murphy, WN1C. Seconded by Larry Waldhart KD9VTR, all in favor.

Paulette Quick, WB9VHF, was inducted into the Four Days in May Hall of Fame 2026
WI QSO Party. N9UW placed First place 4,984 points in the Multi-Op Multi-Transmitter category
VE Report for May 2026
Nine volunteer examiners in attendance.
Six candidates resulting in four new Technician Class licenses and two upgrades to Extra Class.
Ongoing discussion about new location for VE testing.
Old Business
ARRL Field Day
City of Madison and Village of DeForest proclamation. Still looking for GOTA station operators and parking directors. Signs by Tomorrow will be making signs for us to put on 10×10 tents.
T-shirt and badges form will be online by Monday May 25th.
Possible large tent for $250 to dine under provided by the Lions Club.
Sponsorship, $900 cash raised. Culvers donated 150 coins for a single scoop of custard.
June 16th club meeting at 7:00pm at Schumacher Farm Park. Dinner at Rex’s Inn Keeper 5:30pm.
New Business
For the remainder of 2026, club meetings will be held at Oakwood Village University Woods.
WORT-FM interview June 8th or June 21st. 12 minute live interview about ARRL Field Day and mesh networking. Steve Ujvarosy, W9GZO, Jeff Fritsche, KE9CQP and Christopher Eades will be in attendance to answer questions.
August Foxhunt. Possible alternative POTA
Nicholas Lager, KB9SKW, and Christopher Eades lead a discussion about MeshCore with the membership. What it is, what it can do and how to use it.
Paulette Quick, WB9VHF donated a Baofeng UV-5R to Larry Waldhart KD9VTR.
